I was starting to wonder if I had a couple of males when I noticed a big hole dug in my Neolamprologus brevis tank. The adults didn't seem interested in it, but when I looked closely I spotted about 20 tiny babies moving about in the pit. Boy am I excited. There's something special about that first spawn from a species.
It only took about 2 months for them to figure it out.

Not right away. I'm moving fish around in a few weeks when I turn in some fry for my breeders program and the tank I originally planned for the adults accidentally got a couple of Lamprologus tetracanthus in it today. The other tank I was considering got a couple of leleupi in it this afternoon. The parents aren't paying much attention to the fry so far. I counted them today and saw about 30 total. If the number dwindles I'll put them in a breeders box.
My multi's acted very similarly. They seemed to completely ignore the fry and now I'm over run with them.

Congrats on the Brevis:party: They really are a great looking shelldweller.
