What kind of catfish can i keep with my cichlids. I have a 150 gal tank and 6 yellow labs and some other cichlids that the fish store said were good with yellows but he dont really know that much as he dont keep fish himself so i want to buy some bottom feeders to liven up the bottom of the tank.

Synodontis. The best are S. multipunctatus or S. petricola. If you are keeping mbuna and feeding mostly vegetarian food, S. petricola can thrive and breed on vegetarian fare. Either fish stays small, in the 4-5" range for multipunctatus, smaller or petricola, and is highly active and social. Get a group of between four to six and they should be out and about cruising the tank given time to settle in.
The are silvery with brown spots and white whiskers. They are also native to the Rift Lakes being from Lake Tanganyika, so living in African water conditions is really the best for them. Lake Malawi also has a Synno. S. nyassae, but it is pretty rare and hard to come by.
