Pirate Hap!!! Help! [Archive]

About a month ago i bought a small hap. obliquidens and released him into my 75 gal tank. My red zebra (dominant fish) kicked his ass really bad, now my hap has this white thing over his eye. I can see a little black in the center and around the edges. Hes all better now besides his eye and i got rid of the red zebra. Should i wait to release him again or put him in with the one good eye?

I would treat it with Melafix until the eye heals up.

Will his eye get better anyway? I was using melafix for a while and all it did was help his fins....

he could be permanently blind in that eye. :(

Dont worry! this is just normal. Some fishes get this when they are stressed. 8)

So basically, ur saying the thing over his eye could be from stress too? Has there been anyone wth a fish like mine where the damage went away and it could see? How long will this take? Thanks for ur help

Yes, I have a Bala Shark who likes to jump out of the tank and he has had cloudy eye about 12 times with no meds and it clears up.

I have had a Socolufi with it, all better now.

My fave fish Josette, a Placidachromis has not been that lucky, I always have to move her into a hospital tank for treatment.

I had a convict lady :lol: wich got this cloud when she was guarding her fry's. She was VERY stressed !!! The next day it was gone. And came back again when she had more fry's 2 take care of.
