nobody probably cares, but yesterday i went in for an interview at a local animal hospital, and..... I got the job!!!
i'm only 17 and i have a job at a vets office! :) i'm a kennel technician :)
i probably won't be treating many fish, but this is my first step into a zoology/veterinary medicine carreer.
i'm keeping my job at petsmart, just because i'm makeing more there then the vets office.

ok i'm done being annoying now *dances* but still excited!

Congratulations! It's good to see somebody with a job they actually want.

Kennel technician? Cleaning dog kennels I'm guessing?

Congratulations!! I started working at a vet hospital as a kennel assistant 6 years ago, I now manage the hospital. I wouldn't want to do anything else! I love it! The key to working your way up quickly is to show interest in everything, not just the job you were hired for in the kennel. Learn everthing you can about every aspect of the hospital. You'll go from pooper scooping to assisting the vets in no time!! :D Good Luck!!!

so yesterday was my first day. Well, first thing, there was a misunderstanding about my work shirt, apparently i had to go buy a white doctor/scrub shirt, (they weren't provided). But the lady let me borrow one so it was ok. I work with two other girls who are close to my age, and they seem really nice. My job involves... ummm lets see... cleaning... cleaning... and uhhh more cleaning. Thankfully not as much scooping as i thought there was going to be. ;) mostly moping, sweeping, doing laundry ect. we're in charge of feeding the dogs in the kennel and walking them, as well as moving them and cleaning kennels. So we'll see how it goes for the next few months, and i guess no matter whether or not i actually like the job, it will look great on college and job applications.
Thanks for all you're positive encouragement!
