its a 30 gallon tank. 2 buckets filled with bio balls, i cut the bucket as you can see in the pic and siliconed plexiglass to it. i drilled a bunch of holes in the plexi. i drilled a big hole on the bottom of the bucket as well as some small holes. it hold 3-4 inches of filter pads above the plexiglass, no probs draining. i run 2 of these buckets and water returns via a lifetech 10000 pond pump. i think its 2600gph. cost like $60.00. with this setup my tank drains via dual 1" bulkheads and returns through 3/4" inch pvc. not sure how to measure how much its turning over but i figure its enough. so let me know what you guys think.

Personaly culligan jugs work wonders :P I love my culligan wet/dry. and if you find the right shop, they will give you cleaned out, scratched or danaged jugs for free. non leaching, clean, drinking water containers. carefull the nosel might be a little small for some flow. (just make it bigger :P )

pictures on the site show how it looks now,

they are curently in a leaking 77 gallon hagen POS with a strait 20 gallon sump

they are being moved into a 90 gallon (all the same equipment) with a custom sump/diy stand and bio tower. I am contemplating puting a dark blue background on the tank, byt my gf wants a picture background (rocks/plants and stuff)

this shows prety much everything
