A buddy of mine flew in from Washington state a few weeks ago and paid me a vist. Rick aka Packard from my local club was nice enough to go with me to Raleigh to pick him up. (Interesting I can make it there in 3 hours and 15 minutes from Bostic, NC) He bought the ticket at half the price it would have cost to fly into Charlotte. Bad thing is he bought it BEFORE the hurricane and the bloated gas prices. At any rate he happened to bring along a high quality digital camera. I honestly forget what it was Nikon or Olympus SLR blah blah blah... I just know I am jealous and want one. Just had to snap a few shots while he was here and finally got around to sifting through a few. The goof forgot to bring any other lenses other than the bazooka sized one so I had to stand all the way across the room and use the flash to get the pics to come out. Really would have liked to have seen what the camera would have done with the correct lense on it. Some of the pics are 'ok' some aren't good, but it's something to look at.

I will add to the thread when I can sift through them.

The first three shots were taken in .TIFF format and were approximately 25MB each. I had to cut them way down after conversion.

Wish he had been here this week instead. The dominant Ectodus in this shot is really showing off his true coloration now.

This is a bad pic of a fish I have desperately been trying to get some decent shots of, but man they are tough to snap because they are so fast. Picture really doesn't do this fish justice in any way.

He got bored looking at my tanks so I had to take him sight seeing. He just had to take a pic of NC's biggest phallic symbol.

Was a real hazy day as you can see in this pic.

Here's a shot of some ugly ole angelfish.

And a shot that I wish didn't have a glare. Heck for that matter a shot I wish I could have staged in a show tank instead of a bugged up 100 gallon long I setup a few weeks back. It's a pair of my F0 chocolate cichlids I picked up off of Ken @ Ken's Fishfarm. I can say with absolute certainty I have two pair out of the 8 I have. I did nab one of the 8 from Bernie @ The Fish Store in TN, had to have a little diversity.

Here's another shot of three of the choc's doing a rope a dope because one of the lone males was trying to cut a female away from one of the pairs.

I am POSITIVE the pics could have been much much better if I had any clue on how to use that camera.

Still, great pics though. The chocolates look really good.

Goos stuff solace, those bazooka size lenses can be heavy and hard to keep still.

Glaive,

That thing was taxing me just holding it up to snap the shots.

Seedy,

Yeah I think so too. I have some really nice fish in that tank in my pinion.

I feel that way whne I put my extender on my 75-300 to get long range wildlife. It's great to be able to get such a far away subject but it's tough when you can't use a tripod.
