I just wanted to let all of you here on this site know how much I appreciate you. You are considerate and open minded people. You respect the opinions of others and don't insult people, even when the opportunity presents itself.

The moderators are wonderful in watching where posts belong and moving them to the correct location when one of us has a memory gap! Or when one of us is totally off track on something.

I have just had a HORRIBLE and very upsetting experience at one of those "other" forums. I was looking at people's substrates and wanted to see what the concensus of opinions was. Apparently no one reads well there, and are all ready to jump down your throat because they misunderstood what was being said. (I put up a post and they all freaked out on me.)

Thank goodness you guys are here for advice and chat on a subject we all are supposed to enjoy!

:nervous: Ok, I'm alright now. Back in the "safe" forum. :D

This is a great forum and has to be the friendliest forum out there, I am a member at 4 other forums and I only know of one other I would call friendly.
While some of the other forums have a huge knowledge base and plenty of gurus, this is the one that feels most like home.

Merlyn, I bet I can guess which forum you were at

This really is the best forum I've used. I'm registered with numerous fish boards, but I rarely visit them, nor post when I do. Too many people with chips on their shoulders that are in a hurry to jump down someone's throat for some imagined slight. I see a lot of "I'm right, you're wrong" on other boards with no real discussion, only argument. You never have that sort of conflict here. I once got into an argument with some moderators at TFC over my keeping clown loaches in a mbuna tank. When it became obvious that many people kept the same mixture in the US I was told that I should keep that fact to myself so that newbies don't get the wrong idea about how to keep fish. BTW, I've also heard a lot of American bashing on the European based boards to the point that I just gave up on them. What does foreign policy have to do with fish?

I don't agree with everyone on this board, but I believe that everyone is entitled to an opinon and I know I'm not always right (it only seems that way  ). The fact that we try to be polite with one another is one of the cornerstones of this forum's success.

Thanks Tom for giving us a good place to exchange ideas. 8)
