Male or Female?

Hey guys,

I'm gonna start looking for my Green terror and Texas tomorrow at all of my lfs's but I would really like to find a Male Green terror, as opposed to a female. I doubt this is answerable, but is there any way to tell the difference when the fish are only 2 inches?

I'm only aware of the more elongated body of the adult male GT and his nuchal hump. And for the females a more rounded body with no hump and shorter, more rounded dorsal and anal fins.

Can any of these help me determine the sex of the small ones?

You can almost certainly get a male out of the tan of small ones. If they are over two inches you will usually find a dominant male of the tank. The rest will stay clear of him and he probably will have a nuchal hump. He will also be bigger. When you pull him out someone else will pull rank.

If the fish are to small this may be difficult to notice, but just watch them for a while, you will figure it out.
