White Thing Hanging From Compressiceps Mouth

I looked at my tank over lunch and my Compressiceps has a short white thing hanging from his mouth it is about this _ long. He is in the process of turning blue( with a winderful yellow belly) and i am very find of him. Any ideas?

Could be a wound that happened during feeding, or a fight. Melafix should fix him right up. Also add some salt. Maybe raise the temp a degree or two if it is not already at 85F degrees.
