Looks good Seedy. Way better than the old phone shots. I need to get my camera out and take a few shots of my own.

Hey Seedy

Think you can make the pics just a tad bigger? I'm straining my eyes here.

Ok, seriously, those are sharp photos! :ok:

Heheh...sorry...I forgot not everyone has a big monitor and cable connection...:g: oh..and I was having fun with the macro setting :D

Thanks again!...Ok...so any suggestions or feedback? What do I need to work on? I'm still finding my way around the camera, but it seems to do pretty well on the autosetting/autofocus...it also have a manual mode as well that really has a lot of settings...some of which I'm not too familiar with yet...most of the best shots had the flash on...the pleco did not have the flash...

I know need to get a tripod set up, but I can't find the little plate that screws onto the camera...

Those are some great shots! I take the majority of my pics in macro mode. Tripod is almost a must. Lighting can be difficult. When I use my flash, I shoot at an angle to the front glass to eliminate the glare bouncing right back. Getting them to sit still and pose is the hardest thing to do! :D

Yeah...the eel is my next project...He's a tricky lil bugger though...he's usually out at night, when only the moon light is on...so it's gonna be tricky...

The fifth pic from the top (white calvus I believe). That is the most beautiful Fish Pic I have ever seen ... its so perfect in every aspect. Any tips on how your pic stays so large, but you manage to make it small enough to post. I find that in order to get it small enough to post, I have to decrease the size significantly

i always shoot in the biggest size my camera offers. so it would be easier to downsize the pix without loosing much quality.

Also there is no size limit if the pics are hosted off site and linked to....as Seedy did.... (Such as in the gallery or photobucket)

Actually, that is a lie. There is a size limit on most image hosting sites including photobucket. Posting the largest image you possibly can is actually very rude and selfish, not to mention a total waste of bandwidth. There is absolutely no reason, for instance, to post an image on the internet that is any higher resolution than 72 ppi. since your monitor can't display more than that anyway.

Gallery limit is 50mb total.

Finz is very correct, there is a long forgotten thing known as netiquet there are limits to photobucket and there are limits to people's bandwidth.

I personally try to aim for 640x480 as most forums will display an image with out needing side scrolling, the low resolution also protects my work. I have found that a quality of about 9 makes for some good online pictures.

I deffinetly back Finz up with the monitor limitations as I have found most of my pictures look horrible on a monitor and yet print up so crisp and clear.

PS My monitor is tuned.

Actually I meant that the Forums allow outside linked images of whatever size those sources allow. I did not mean the host wasn't going to limit you.

That is also a lie. Many forums have rules about the size in pixels of photos that are allowed. You might be able to post an image over the size limit, but your photo is likely to be deleted or resized by the forum software. Resizing the image to the allowed forum size insures that your photo will look it's best without the forum or host software resizing it for you (and doing a much poorer job).

One of the problems I help people with here are image related and nearly all of those are due to pixel limits of the board.
