If you're talking about whether the linked-to site is up or not (which is what I was referring to), then the link probably just wasn't working when you posted it.

But if you mean the URL you typed didn't become a link in the first place, then that's another story: Make sure you have "Automatically parse URLs" chosen in "Options" below the message box when you want your URL to become an active link (shown by an underscore).
