I have a red devil and a parrot fish. Recently, they have been acting strangely. There is a tube coming out of the parrot fish bottom. I put a huge pot in my tank a while ago and now the pair are in it. The parrot fish chases all fish away from the corner and the red devil is moving rocks. The red devil will eat when i feed but the parrot will not. They keep circling around eachother and the parrot moves around sideways (sometimes). A couple of times they head butt eachother and their mouths touch. Someone tell me if they are breeding and if it will be a successful breed. also how will the babies turn out if they breed sucessfully.

They may be breeding if they both are protecting the pot. i am not sure if they will create any young but anythings possible. also if they do breed i wouldnt sell any of the babies as its kind of like a new species being created that does not naturally occur or a hybrid (which the parrot already is.) if the parrot fish does have its oviposter (sp?) extended than it is likely that they are going to breed. in that case i would try to get all of the other fish in the tank out of it mostly because the RD will probably try to kill all of them.HTH
