I fed my fish tonight as ussual everything looked good sept the nitrite levels were up to 0.5 or so,So i feed my JD and GT also a pictus and bristle nose pleco. My JD looked normal untill like 30 minutes after i fed them he is sitting on the bottom of the tank with a big huge tummy i mean he looks like hes gonna blow up or some ****,Has anyone or does anyone know if JD's tend to over eat to the point they will get bloated? I know my pictus does it but im not sure about the JD.would sure like to hear back from anyone who has seen this happen.I think if it was internal parasites i probley would have noticed somthing sooner but i could be wrong iv only had him for a few weeks and hes bin fine till now,hes just a baby around 2 to 2 1/2 " .

Smaller cichlid have a habit of overeating for sure. I would not be to concerned about it. Try to feed it some crushed up spinach, or even cooked rice to make sure that it does not get more bloated, or constipated.

Take alooka t it later today anbd let us know how it is doing.

He sounds like an oscar. I have a wild caught baby and he eats so much he lays on his side and still swims over for more!!!

I just think it means they are happy
