I know you probably see these types of questions all the time but I was wondering your opinion of the following fish in a 55g. How many and what species do you think would be good. NOt really interested in breeding so one of a species is fine.

Cichlasoma sajica
Cryptoheros septemfascatum
Herotilapia multispinosa
Geophagus surinamensis

I really like them all but I really really want at least one geo.

I think one of each of those or even a couple of the smaller ones ( not the geo) would be good in a 55 gal.

OK thanks I'll prob get 1 geo, 2-3 rainbows, and 1 of one and 2 of one out of the other two, if that makes sense. Is that pushing it?

I think you should be OK if you keep up on your water changes.
Just make sure you have lots of caves & hiding spots & an open area of sand for the geo to dig in.

Excellent, I have this natural coloured river sand that i collected and cleaned. It is light brown, I have used it in my other tanks too, it;'s great. I will be added alot of driftwood and largish rocks. I will also <!try!> to add some potted java fern or have it tied to wood/rocks. Thanks alot :)
