Here is a pic of the solid oak stand that my dad and I built custom for the 55gal that is sitting on top of it. We bought all the wood at Home Depot and stained it with a red mohagany stain and finished it with a semi gloss laquer. We used 1/2" oak for the top, sides and middle supports. We used 1/4" for the backing and made custom doors to match. The handles and hinges were also bought from Home Depot. I love that place!
( I am having problems importing a pic. I will post it as soon as I fix the problem, sorry about that!)

sorry the pics are so blurry. I think its a mixture of the camera and the photo editing program, but I'm sure its better than nothing :)

that's off the hook!. I love it. How much did the materials cost? I wonder if one can buy ac ouple of cabinets and just add bracing for the weight instead of making it from scratch?

The materials cost like 160.00 for everything! including the stain varnish and hardware! Like I said Home Depot, I love that place :D

Very nice! I really like the shelves in the middle. I can't stand not having any in my stand! It's always such a mess underneath, lol. You need to make a matching hood next ;)
$160, thats a great price. I too love Home Depot and will be making my own stand next time! Thanks for sharing your pics.
