not really. i would just wash them off with some hot water, or if you are afraid that something got onto them you could soak them in a bleach solution and then thoroughly was them off to get all of the bleach off of them.HTH

Thanks, do you think boiling it would do the job or would that crack it?

If the pots are brand new, then I'd just rinse them off with hot water. If they're used, I wouldn't use them at all, because of the chance of exposure to insecticides or weed killers.

Boiling might crack them.

I have boiled them in teh past, considering a decent terra cotta pot has been fired I see no prob with boiling, I use mine in pieces any ways.

I just rinsed mine really well. actually, I had tl let it soak for a few hours because I ended up cutting cave entrances out of them using a dremmel (sp).

Alright, thanks! IIt has been used before but I know for a fact that no insecticides or anything like that were used on it. I guess Ill just rinse it off really well and not boil it becuase I don't want to risk cracking it because it's a cool pot..
