my nitrates in one of my tanks is really high. I was wondering if anyone knows how to bring it down.

Clean out your tank. you can change water and that will get it down immediately but the long term solution is to keep the bottom of your tank clean combined with regular partial water changes.

Fred is correct.
The other things you might want to look at are:
Are you overfeeding?
Is the bio load (# of fish) too high for the type of filter/s you have?
Does your filter need cleaning?
Are you doing regular water changes?
All this contributes to high nitrates.
Also, check the Nitrate level of your tap water. In some areas, Nitrate levels from the tap are high enough to start you off on the wrong foot. If you find this is the case, you should hold water in a plastic tub or trash can and filter it over a Nitrate absorbing resin or pad before pumping it into your tank.
