In the interests of putting my money where my mouth is. Please register if you'd participate in another photo comp... but be genuine. It's a lot of work for Tom & Glaive & everyone so genuine only.
I for one...YES PLEASE? I have learned so much re photography in the year & bit I've been here (thanx guys! U kno who u r) & relish the chance for more feedback.

I definitely think that we should try another if the amount of participants AND voters is good. it was really fun and the best part is that you have a chance to win something! just my opinion though..

Sorry Tom.... then it's even more important we don't waste his time!
I want it pic of the month posted here. Look guys im not advertiseing and tom or mods if you want to edit this go for it but! first look on how i set it up all pictures are posted by a person who is running the comp this i would say is finz maybe? all the pictures are set out under each other with the poll option there on who should win, this way we can all see the pictures and also see who is winning, it also helps keep the forum active.

Though I'd certainly look forward to all the spectacular photos, and would gladly vote, my lack of digicam and scanner at this time prevent my entry. :(

You could always take lots of pics now for whenever the comp comes back up??? You'll have lots a memories then too, as well as ammo for any photo comps?

I would like to see it. I'll enter as well, but my pics are not in the competing class.

I would vote, of course, and probably enter just for fun. My photo skills are improving (I can now get sharp focus on any water spots happen to be on the front of the tank), but my pics are only good when my fish pose nicely.

I enjoy entering just to enter. I'm trying to get better with the camera so it's good practice for me.
It is ultimately up to those who put all the time and effort into it. I know I won't get to enter and vote every month. If there aren't enough members to keep it running, maybe we should try quarterly or semi-annual contests for a while instead of monthly. I personally don't have time to take enough pix of my fish to submit a photo that I would be proud of every month. If it were less frequent and people could enter for a longer period, maybe it would get more attention? Just my $.02

Yeah & 13 votes is kinda reinforcing why it was wise to put it on hold rather than a reason to bring it back I guess. Oh well, can't blame a guy for trying.... where's me beer? :drink:

:D I dunno mate, you easties are losing touch with your roots mate. I was born in the north west of WA, I think only QLD'ers are more ocker than them when it comes to the lingo. Been city bound for awhile but, so I can speak normal english when I need to. The natural dialect almost forgotten nowadays. :)

LOL. Yeah most likely. Was funny, saw an American comedian on one of our shows, Rove Live, bit like the Letterman show only funnier (:wink: ), & he was making jokes re the amount of alcohol we consume. Was hilarious & pretty true. He said that;
"if people in the US drank as much as Aussies do they'd be in a group, called Alcoholcs anonymous. He said they'd meet in a rehabilitation centre. We Aussies have something similar, it's called a pub. & the anonymous bit is us telling people not to tell our missus where we are".
Was a funny guy, his comic timing was excellent & he really pulled it off. Altho Aussies aren't that hard an audience for comedians we laugh at everything! Except poodles. What people do to them with a razor just isn't funny!!!
Thats true, Australians do drink alot dont they. My Australian friends a;ways have a can of beer in there hands and are always cooking on the BBQ, spins me out some times....

I don't drink anywhere near what I used to. Nowadays it's lucky if I have a few a year. Bought a 6 pack of crownies which lasted me 6 months! When I used to run hard I'd knock off a carton of beer (24x 350ml cans) & a bottle of bourbon (750ml) in a night :drink: & walk home. Was scary now that I look back but I have a metabolism that's resistant to chemicals including alcohol so I could consume a load before I'd even get light headed & as soon as I stopped the feelings faded. Having said that, cos I drink so little now I'm sure the grog'd kick like a mule if I hit the sauce too heavily now. :D
The things we do.

Boy what a hijack! It was fun reading to the end, though.
I joined just a few days late to get in on the last open photo contest before the cichlid bowl. I took a shot today that's waiting for a contest, so count me in. I've voted in each contest since I joined.
Although if the interest is demonstrated by the total vote on this poll, then I understand that it's not worth the effort. I can put my pics on my gallery. I just enjoy a little competition along the way.
