I have a wild male bb chilumba about 4 inches in my 40 gal. breeder tank with 2 female chilumba and like 3 red zebras, but the females don't seem to care about the male, everytime he swims by them they just swim away, somtime swim along with him but that hardly happen. Is there any reason why they don't want to breed with him or why are they ignoring him?

they're probably just not ready to breed. are you feeding anything special to get them into breeding condition? also, very often, large water changes trigger spawning. how often do you change your water? it's only good to do large water changes if your fish are used to having their water changed frequently...otherwise, you have to work your way up to it.

No, I'm not feeding them anything special to get them to breed but yes I change my water once a week. Do you think I should let the water sit and then change it like once a month? I mean I think the females are ready to breed but its like they're playing hard to get.

I change about 40 percent of it, and is there some food like you mention that can help them to breed??

give them an extra ration of protein in the form of brine shrimp, mysis, plankton, etc. then i would do an extra water change and see if that sparks any fireworks.
