I have a 125 with mixed haps, would you see any problem with the addition of some bumblebees?
I have read that they are aggressive, but would prefer some first hand info.
Thanks, as always

The dominant fish in my tank is a crabro, but they don't seem that bad to me. I've had worse fish aggression wise. I keep them with Sci. fryeri, Nim. venustus, Nim. livingstoni, Dim. compressiceps, albino zebras, ruby greens and a few others.

Would you recommend them? Also how big do they get?
Thanks,
Matt

They're one of my favorites in the 125g. The dominant male is about 6" (still young). I've heard of them getting up to 10", but I haven't seen them that big in person before. Very cool looking fish with the dom male nearly black and the rest of the fish holding onto the bumblebee colors. Even the fry look like little bees. The other thing I like about them is they aren't herbivores, so they're less likely to get bloat when kept with haps.
Even my non-fishkeeping wife likes them. When I changed the line up last year she insisted I keep the bumblebees.

The only fish in my tank that my dominant bumblebee chases is the non-dominant bumblebee. He gets chased by: L. chisumulae, L. caeruleus, M. paralellus and last but certainly not least M. lombardoi. Like most species personality varies from fish to fish, but overall they are not too bad. Just don't put any guppies in there. :D
