I've read a lot in the forum about feeding africans greens among other different things. I generally only feed mine cichlid flakes twice daily and an algae wafer once every week or so. How important is it really to feed greens? How important is variety in an african's diet?
Also, on the topic of feeding......I have 16 new fry (about a week and a half old)....Im feeding them Wardley "first bites" and baby brine shrimp. When should I start introducing them to flakes and greens?

It really depends on what cichlids you have. Greens (fresh or flake) are important to mbuna, but not with haps. I usually feed crushed flake to my fry right away.

Where is a good site to find out exactly where your africans originated from?

I have mbuna....so is the flake food that is made for cichlids (omega One) not sufficiant enough for mbuna? This food is pretty high in protien...44%, but says nothing about any type of greens in the ingredience.

I'd feed a spirulina flake at least 2 out of 3 days and feed the Omega One on the other days.
