every time I try to take a shot of my tank it looks like a cave!
For a camera all I have is a Canon point & shoot. The tank (75g) has 130w CF lighting on it.
here is an example:

Try shooting at night with all the lights in the room off and only the tank lights on.

Also try raising the iso on your camera if you can

Thanks for the help!:) Much better results. Next step is to actually read the camera instructions:rofl:

You should be able to go into a manual mode where you can set the shutter speed higher. 100-400 range should help.
When you do this adjust your iso up as high as it goes, then back it down until you get a good mix.
in case you don't know iso is the equivalent in film speed and the higher the number the faster it reacts to light. It can make for grainier pictures but also assists with higher shutter speeds which can make for less blurry shots.
Reiterate try higher iso value and higher number shutter speeds.
A quick read in the manual will help you find these settings.
