Saltwater Tank tooo Fresh water?

um can i buy a tank used for salt water and then use it for fresh water? If so, what should I do to clean it out? tHx

Yes, you can use it and I'd clean the tank with warm water mixed with regular salt, then rinse it real good.

Try white vinegar. It's a little stinky, but seems to be ok. It removes mineral and salt deposits, as well as the old slime from the previous setup. I used it in a tank I converted to Africans a few months ago. Worked fine and obviously killed the bacteria that infected the tank previously, because my fish are ok.

I'm thinking too, that the high acid level would wipe out anything that might currently be alive in more alkaline conditions.

Just a suggestion.
