Okay so this the ten gallon that has slowly been cycling.

The little wally world puffer bit the dust and we are down to one zebra danio

I am going to let the tank cycle on the one fish and then I want to add some friendly fish to the tank, one at a time so as to not stun the bacteria colony.

My gf has given up on puffers due to the only food source being red worms we dig up. Any thoughts on some fish to put in a 10 gal over time.... a nice medley would be cool. <Personally I'd just do a pair of ornatus, but teh gf wants some color...> and she doesn't want cichlids unless I am going to be here all the time....

Swordtails or guppies. You can use the babies for live food. Maybe a couple of cories for cleaning up.

I think swordtails & guppies are kind of boring. You should look into some threadfin rainbow fish. When the males display their finnage is amazing.

These look great too.

Those are cool! I also thought of these. We've kept these in a 10g community. Not all at the same time of course.

neon tetras
leopard danios (pretty and very active)
endlers livebearers (I didn't realize these were so pretty until I saw them in person)
guppies
Swords
Platys
Mollies (10g is kinda cramped for them though, they didn't do well for me)
Small gouramis (Blue's get to big and aggressive in a 10g)
