top fin filters???

does anybdy know if the top fin filter on there 29g setup is any good and how many gph does it do.i know there not as good as aq but i always to a 20% water change each week the complete kit is 80 dolars and i build my own stands and ill put convics in the tank.do u think it will keep a convict tank clean????

I think it will be fine if all you have is the pair and you make regular water changes.

Not compared to oscars. I think all cichlids are messy to some extent, but some are worse than others. Just make sure you vacuum the gravel during water changes and everything will be cool. 8)

hitchris, I actually have the same tank you're talking about and it worked pretty well for me but one day it just went out, I mean the filter just stopped working. So if I were you I would get yourself another to replace it like an ac or something.

Just run the Top Fin until it dies, then get an AquaClear. My brother-in-law gave me his old Top Fin 29g and I got a couple years of use out of it (plus his 2 years) before it keeled over. Now I'm using it for a mini reef with an AC500 churning it.
