camera questions

I am going to be looking at some new digital camera's and I was wondering what I should look at? Is 3 to 4 megapixels good? or should i look into something with more? what is everyone else using in here?

The resolution best for you will depend on the size prints you intend to have made and whether or not you will be cropping / enlarging smaller parts of the pictures to make the subjects larger. You can find a link to my tips page in the sticky at the top of this forum.

i will be using them mainly for online use and print up to 8x10
I don't do much cropping to smaller if any at all

I believe a 4mp camera would do okay for 8x10s.

I would also pay attention to battery type.
Lithium ion rechargable if you can.

Zoom.
Ignore digital zoom and pay attention to optical, 3x no less.

I would consider a larger flash card than will come with it.

Canon has some decent offerings in the 200-300 dollar range. Many of which will also do up to 640x480 video.
