 I finnally found a picture of Labidochromis flavigulisthis, several actually, and it is not what I have. It appears that I have an Albino Zebra Pseudotropheus, actually two. Unless someone would like to tell me there is an other sp. of cichlid that looks the same..... :) (silly me...oops)

so I have 2 albino zebra, 2 Kennyi, 2 blue moorii, and two electric yellow.

I've been reading lots since yesterday, and I am unsure what to think now. From what I read there isn't a problem with what I have together, but this is different then what you guys are saying. I am more likley to go by you guys. Guess I am trying to understand why. Will the 2 kennyi be a problem in a bigger tank? Is it only beacuse of a smaller tank. Or from experiance would you say all around bad idea, can't be done.

Now the the white fish are albino zebra does that change anything, or are they still good.
help...please

p.s....... what does it mean when several dites identify the behaviour of a sp. cichlid as peaceful and territorial? ...both at the same time.
thanks

as to your last question...a fish can be territorial in that it guards a particular piece of real estate, but can be considered peaceful if it stays on that piece of real estate and doesn't try to take over the entire tank. you must always remember that when a cichlid is referred to as "peaceful", the term is relative. nearly all cichlids are aggressive, but the degrees of aggressiveness vary. peacocks and yellow labs are considered milder-mannered cichlids--but that does not mean that they will not fight to the death over a rock or a cave...if the tank is not set up properly, they will.

as far as tthe kennyi go, you may be able to make it work, and maybe not...there are no black and white answers. but kennyi tend to be very aggressive, and most people will tell you that in their experience, kennyi are terrors.

Thanks SGypsyMermaid.
I just wanted to understand better before I took them back to the store. I have no room for two giant tanks.... got my work cut out for me to get a bigger tank as it is.... hehe....

Is there any clue in the names of the fist that help sort out compadibility? Do you know of a site that has a good list of fish, pics, and agressivness? I've found a few, but they are ery cluttered all over the place. thanks
:)
hehe

i dont mean to stick out or anything but...i have found that with cichlids there are no rules...what i mean by that is that in my 75 community...i have fish that according to the chart and, with all due respect, everyone in this forum should have killed each other the second i put them in the tank...yet they all get along well all perfectly healthy and not to much fighting...i actually had a torn dorsal on the male regal peacock but thats rare...i have zebras..with labs...mooris with venustus..and even a blasted compressicepts...they should all be dead yet theyre not actually growing fast...by no means do i urge you to experiement with the lives of defenseless fish i just though it was relevant..
