k heres the deal. i have a 30 gallon brackish tank set up and i have 4 columbian sharks or black finned sharks. im looking to put some more brackish fish in there but all i can find are the puffers. i hear they are very agressive and im wondering if they will get together.

those columbian sharks get 3 or so feet at full growth, and require salt water too at full growth, you realise that right?

i would try scats or mono's. puffers will eat your other fish's fins more than likely. they are opportunistic feeders.

You could also try chromides.

ya i didnt realize the columbians got that big. thanx for telling me. i will be getting a 120 gallon tank later to split up my 55 gallon . ill give the columbians to somebody that can hold a fish that big when they get bigger.

if I buy one(or two) puffers in my 40 gallon tank of 10 african cichlids, what will happen?

More than likely, depending on the type of puffers, the cichlids will die.

your cichlids will get eaten, or your cichlids will get bloat because puffer's foods are loaded with protein which is bad for africans

Archerfish are an interesting brackish fish, they have a great trick of shooting insects with jets of water to knock them into the tank, is good fun. Only thing is I'm not familiar with your sharks as to whether the Archers will grow fast enough to not get eaten...?
