About a month ago I saw Red Fish and Blue Fish doing this wierd little dance. By reading some stuff on here I figured out that it was like a mating dance. Blue fish was alway social while Red Fish hid a lot. Now Blue Fish (m) barely comes out of this little hiding area they have, and Red Fish (f) comes out every once in a while. Could they be protecting eggs or fry? I don't know what to do.

I'm pretty sure they're Aulonocara, either Jacobs or Stuarts. Here's the crappy site I made again, if you'd like to see it/again.

if they spawn, the female will have a big bulge of eggs in her throat--it's very noticeable, and she will be moving her mouth as if she's chewing. they may just be working their way up to spawning by hanging out in that cave.

Blue fish came out and I'm worried. He doesn't eat at all, he's lost his color, and he's shrunk size. What should *do?

have you tested your water? what is your water changing schedule? where is red fish?--maybe you should get a look at red fish, also.
