i agree with gypsy, a 30 would be fine, my friend has a large male as a show fish, and while i'm not that well up on africans, it makes one hell of a pet.

I would think you would need atleast a 55, since I beleive male buttis can reach the 12" range.

Butti get 16 inches. I know because with my indecisive behavior I bought one about 15 inches. Had him for a couple months. More of a rescue attempt and the bastard was so mean they stuck him in a sump.

Do stick that guy in a 30 get something wider.
