hey i was wondering what you guys thought of sand substrate? i think it looks nice but have no personal expeirence. is it good ? or bad?

hey ive never tried the marine tank....but the all black tahitian moon on the same page looks pretty good as long as your not looking for too natural of a look...and fyi there is a sand out on the market called cichlid sand...supposedly it raises the ph to 8.2 and creates an "ideal environment...it doesnt do jack but it look REALLY good i filled my 75 community tank w/ it and i am ever so pleased...

I typed cichlid sand into a search engine and this is the best Website that i found. http://www.customaquatic.com/customaquatic/detailcat.asp?CatID=ss&SubCatID=ss-fw# they are freshwater substrate.
