Help sex me!

I'm getting mixed views on the sex of my new pink convict and am hoping you all can help me sex it.

I've been told that since it has an orange belly it must be a female.
I've also been told that since it has long trailers it must be a male.
The dorsal trailer goes past it's back fin. It's hard to see in the picture due to the bag.
I will take more pics as it becomes more accustomed to it's new tank. These pics were taken before I even got it out of the bag.

Rudy's right. Long trailers mean nothing, but the orange belly is a give away for female Convicts.

agree with Rex and Rudy. I've had several female striped convicts with long dorsal and anal fin trailers. :) by the way, that's a very nice looking pink female con. :D

I wanted a male. :)
I hated doing it, because she was so pretty, but I took her to the fish store today and traded her straight across for a pink marbled male. I'll take pics of him tomorrow. He's cute as can be. He's white with a few little black spots and one black/one white anal fin. He has no orange at all. Crossing my fingers that I got it right this time!

all my albino convicts have been male, I would have been happy with a female like that ;)

No as it is a pink Convict not a true albino. This coloration is a just subdominant, so most of the other common traits are there. If you look closely at the picture posted you can even see the lines of the convict.

Personally I would have kept that fish as the belly coloration runs up most of the fish and that is not incredibly common.
