View Full Version : gravel vaccums?

Does anyone use the gravel vacs that hook right up to the sink? This seems like a great idea because you dont have to carry the buckets back and forth. I'm just thinking of how the fish would react with straight tap water going into the tank when refilling it. I always add the water conditioner to the bucket before i pour the water into the tank.

We use a python to siphon the tanks but still use buckets to fill back up.

For the time before you add conditioner the fish can be poisned by high chlorine or amonia content in the tap water that does occur after a good rain. It can also burn their gills on contact while it may not kill them. But many people can do it depending on water quality and if you have a home water filter system ECT...
