I just picked up a flowerhorn, I have wanted one for quite some time now and I swung by the lfs last week and they had 3 of them. I snagged one and it is about 2", I'm pretty excited bout this  I wasn't sure what forum to post flowerhorns in Rex so I posted here, feel free to move it.

I figured I would give some updates on this fish of mine. He is now adjusted to the tank and is doing very well. He is very active and is always cruising around and starting to dig. His colors have increased tremedously sense he has acclimated and his feeding is amazing. He is barely bout 2" and will eat 8-10 pellets per feeding. He is also almost to the point where he will eat the pellets from my fingers, I think in about a week he will. I can't wait for this fish to become mature and get his colors. A neat site to check for those who are not too familiar with flowerhorns is www.flowerhornusa.com

That is a good thing about this board is FH and others are not treated as the criminals of the fish world.

Good luck with him.

I love Flowerhorns. They have more personality than you can shake a stick at. Will eat out of your hands in no time. Good trick with them is to put some danios in the tank. Not so much as feeders, but to see them hunt. FH are one of the most incredible and accurate hunters I have ever seen. They start off like any cichlid chasing them around like a maniac. Mine developed planned attacks on them. Swimming below them and paying no attention and when in the perfect position they would attack up at the fish. Also gives them a good treat every once in a while.
