Cichlidgallery.com has been moved to a new IP and has also been upgraded to the latest version, with but one casualty: Users must be assigned new passwords as it was necessary to delete certain files during the move for security reasons.

Each album owner will be sent a new password (again, you may change it under "preferences" once you log on) via PM sometime today (Sunday).

Thanks for your patience.

Some notes:

During the move, we noted many image files of ~ 1 MB (!); some approached 2 MB (!!). Please use a compression utilility; I see no reason why any given image file should be more than 200kb (and even that's large). An exception would be a video file, of course.

Cichlidgallery.com is now housed on a new, custom-built server within a data center I partnered with in December. The DC is served by a proprietary network which is a national Internet backbone (it's what's known in IT circles as a Tier 1 Network Operations Center). What this means for you is faster connectivity via premium carriers such as Qwest and Global Center.

We'll also be moving this Forums site there sometime this month.

I'll be allotting several GBs of space and hundreds of GB/mo of uncapped, fully burstable bandwidth for cichlid stuff but will nevertheless place limits on each user's HD allowance on cichlidgallery.com. But not to worry: Forum members will be allowed at least 50 MB of space each (consider that 80% of entire sites on the Web hold less than 20MB of data....on the other hand, consider those 1 MB image files ), sufficient to hold more than 500 photos per user of reasonable file sizes.
