Is the correct name for the kenyi "Maylandia" or "Merticlima" lombardoi?
Thanks, Sam
Hi Sam
I guess it depends on who you ask. Within a Kuhnian "normal science" community, the reply will likely be "Maylandia." M. Oliver clearly explains why:

Or you could read a recent article in the Cichlid News and they will clearly say explain why Metriaclima is the correct name.

(I just wish they would decide. I couldn't care less myself, I just thought I'd give the opposition equal time.)

That's what I like, a unanimous answer. Our local IFS has never had anything but "assorted African Cichlids". First time they have ever actually labled one it was "Metriclima lombardoi". I disagreed with them and said it was Maylandia. I don't think I'll push it any farther, but I still say it's Maylandia.
Thanks guys, Sam
