View Full Version : Slightly uneven tank question

I just noticed after setting up my new 50 gallon wide tank that on one end of the tank, the water line of the tank sits slightly higher than the other end, almost 1/2 an inch. Will this put an undue strain on my tank's integrity? I really don't want a 50 gallon pool in my apartment.
The tank is sitting perfectly flat on it's pine stand, and my apartment floors are solid concrete (they just are uneven in places). Just paranoid after reading stories about tanks cracking and breaking.
Thanks!

how long is the tank? 1/2 inch over 4+ feet shouldn't too bi a problem.

If it bothers you too much then shim it a bit.

I'd shim the stand and not the tank. Shim it in several places to distribute the load evenly across the bottom of the stand.

ooops thanx owasso for catching that I meant to shim the stand
