Welcome to the board Slikcdogg. This kind of behaviour is typical of large cichlids when they are moved. I'm sure he will be fine. Give him a week and chances are he will be acting fine.

i used to have 3 small jack dempseys in a 10gl. i know it sound s crazy becus they can get huge but they also wont get bigger than the tank size.well anyway, i have seen this happen before . i have to oscars and normally i feed them pellets.pellets are a great food for oscars.if he doesnt eat those try blood worms. you can get them at a local petstore.my friend had two albinos and fed that stuff to them and they loved it. oh yea and one more thing if you happen to buy them goldfish to eat and your oscars eat them but then they stop eating there other food , dont worry bout it . it happened to mine and after a few days they were just fine

That is a myth that they won't get bigger than the tank. Small tanks = deformed fish.

The diet for an oscar or any large fish should be a varied as possible. Many pellets are not enhanced with vitamins. I always feed my fish pellets twice a day and brine shrimp or bloodworms once a day. About once a month I will give them small guppy feeders, they like this alot. Also try to change brands of pellets as each is different, I use three different types. If you use one brand for too long the fish gets picky, in my experience. Diet is believed to be one area that can contribute to hole in the head disease along with water quality.
