Nice pics of good healthy fish there Matt and nice glow on the julies, what lighting do you use to bring it out?

actually, um, that's not lighting. that's Julidochromis regani "Kipilli". Flourescent blue dorsal stripe. they look like that in the dark.

worth every cent that I over paid for the WCs...

and thanks! they're very happy cichlids. and that makes me very happy... :D

I have the same nightmare.....I think one day they will come and get me for all the cute lil peacock fry I've fed to calvus.........

Matt...get yourself some altolamps and you won't have a fry "problem" any more....

lol I figured my fryeri would keep my juli population in check, that's why I just sold 8 of em.... Granted with out the fryeri I prolly would have had enough that they could have chained together to get thier own food lol

yeah... after so many years of dealing with comparatively small mouthbrooding clutches, i was downright staggered by what a good juli or neolamrologine can do when it comes to breeding time.

i really think "swarm" is the best word! those delicate-looking, frail-appearing, cichlids in that picture are really overprotective, aggressive, mean parents.

i love it. got a whole little swarm of swimming juli lint!
