Hello, my name is Mark. I am new to this board, I checked out for a bit today then I registered. I am 21yrs old and a former piranha keeper but I have now converted to keeping cichlids and I am very happy with the my results so far. If anyone has any piranhas and has questions you can PM me and I can help answer them for you. I am looking foward to exploring this board more and contributing some posts to help people out.

Hey, Welcome Mark! You sound like someone that can help contribute to the board. What cichlids do you keep now?

Thanks for the welcome Rex. Right now since I am fairly new to cichlids I am only keeping a red devil right now which is bout 7" roughly. I have kept a green terror, texas, and buttikoferi (had not kept them for extensive periods of time but will definately own them again in the future when I have more tanks.) I'll try to borrow a digicam so I can take some pictures of my rd, I have never seen a fish dig as much as him, he digs all day long, very entertaining to watch.

Welcome to the board! I know what you mean about watching your cichlid digging. I have a jaguar cichlid that loves to dig also. Right after I do a water change and rearrange the gravel, I'll sit and watch him go about his house keeping. It's amazing how fast he can clear an area of gravel. Can't wait for your pictues...

I have a large tiger oscar that loves to dig. It is funny because he moves the gravel all over the place and gets mad when any fish or even a hand get near his hole. He bit me the other day as I was doing a clean/water change. He also loves to push the plants around. I say he but I think it is a she.
