Is this possible? It has been 10 days since I started the fishless cycle and I am now getting nitrate readings. Now if I am getting nitrate then that means the tank is cycled. The problem is I never saw the nitrite spike or maybe I just missed it. There was a few days where I didnt get the chance to test the water so maybe it was then but im not sure. Has anyone else ever had a tank cycle this quick? The nitrate is about 10-15ppm and I tested it numerous times to make sure. Am I cycled or is something wrong? If so, what would be a safe amount of fish to put in?

(P.S. 120 gallon with 2 filstar XP3 filters)

Is both your ammonia and nitrite at 0?

What type of fishless cycle did you do?

The quickest way to do a fishless cycle I have found is to throw a shrimp in an established tank and let it it rot. Then throw it in the new tank (couple days after. I have had it cycle in days doing this. Bacteria follow the shrimp I guess

I used clear ammonia for the cycle and yes the ammonia and nitrite are at zero. I will also be adding a little ammonia each day until I get fish.

Great tip Rudy, I'll remember that one.
