Ok so seedy baught some guppies so we would have a constant supply of live food for the calvus just one thing
How long does a female guppie take to birth her fry?
I have always had mouthbrooders and other spawning types but never livebearers.
Seedy chose two males and three female guppies the females he chose out are very very pregnant huge but we dont know how long it takes can anybody help my calvus want to hunt.

I get fry from my guppies about every 3 weeks. Keep them fed well on brine shrimp and they will become steady fry producers for you. My multifasciatus love guppy fry.

Ditto.... guppies are protein factories in all my tanks bar the Occellatus (caught a guppy eating one of my Occies fry - that guppy had an unexpected trip to meet Baz, my barramundi). & yeah mine spawn every 3-4 weeks constantly.

One other thing, if you want to insure maximum guppy fry, get a breeder trap for live bearers since I doubt you want mom to swing around and snap up her own spawn.

Good advice....I went and picked another one up yesterday....along with a pair of dalmation mollys and a really pretty blue male guppy...

guppies are very easy to spawn, if your lucky you can buy some already pregnant females, and I totally agree that a breeding trap would work great!
