View Full Version : Glass Top for a 20 gal without rim?

Hi everyone, after my DIY light project on my tank, I would like to do the same for my gf's 20 gallon. I was wondering if you can get a glass top for a 20 gallon? The top of the glass just terminates - it doesn't have a rim like the larger tanks. I don't know where a top would sit. Do I need to get a frame or something?

I'd appreciate any info.

You can buy the framing for the top.

you could get the frame or you could get a lfs to get one custom made to be like 1/2 longer or however much (the lfs i worked at would do it... and it wasn't that much more $)

I've phoned Big Al's, and checked online, and phoned another local store(PJ's) that only carries Hagen tanks(the make of the tank in question), and nada.

BA's say they have stripping by the foot only. And PJ's says Hagen doesn't make them(I'm waiting to hear back from the Hagen site, too). Is the stripping what you guys were talking about? Or are there other places to look?

Thanks again!

You could go to michaels or arron brothers or a glass shop like ones who do custom jobs on auto's and have a glas pannel cut to your measurments keep in mind they will chargeyou for the glass and then per cut they make no matter where you go

Thanks TBA - actually, the perfecto glass top fits the measurements - it was a frame I needed. Had to settle for frame by the foot, but I think it will work out alright.

Thanks again folks!
