My cyntilapia afra finally let her babies go. I think there is about 10-20 in a 10 gallon. It has a sponge filter and gravel they seem to hide in the gravel. How do I go about taking care of them and feeding them. I am very excited because I have been trying to breed my cichilds for a long time. Any info would be appreciated. :D

I feed the fry fine ground flake food. There's plenty of fry living in my main tank just on the leftovers that the adults miss. Congratulations on the fry. :D

Ross,
I feed most of my fry frozen baby brine shrimp as well as finely crushed flake. I defrost a bit in a cup of water and then suck it up with a bit of rigid airline tubing(like the things you get with an UGF). Then I gentlly blow the bbs(baby brine shrimp) into the herd.
They will get used to it and when they see you coming with that tube in your mouth they will cuma runnin.
When they get a bit of bulk to them ween them more toward a falke diet.
Hope this helps
Matt

I fed our babies the frozen baby brine shrimp also. I have them in a 10 gallon tank. I fed them several times per day and did water changes every 4 days. I have heard of the "tube feeding" that was posted, and think it's a great way to do it. I kept Mom with the babies about a week after she released them. She continued to take them back in her mouth at night, then released them during the day. We let her continue to do this for a week, but we were concerned that she'd eat them, so we moved her back into the big tank. The more water changes you do, the faster they grow. They are now 2 months old and have grown SO much! I am now feeding them daphnia (water fleas) which are slightly bigger than baby brine shrimp. They all have fat tummies and get very excited when you go up to the tank. They know who feeds them!
Enjoy!
