i dont have the links to show you, (maybe rex or jason_s or someone else can help there) but an accara(appart from colour difference) is a much rounder profiled fish (classic fish shape) and the rivulatus (terror) has more of a slight nuchal hump on his head and a blue/greener paterning, plus grows much larger. the accara has a grey/white stripe to it with darker bands and a more royal blue or sometimes white paterning, or at least thats the original accaras. thats why i do indeed understand your question and in my opinion the answer is just as simple as it is sad:( its all interbreeding between the two species most lfs sell hybrid rivulatus X accaras as either of the two! usually the ones who inherit the hump get labeled 'gt' and other bluer siblings labeled 'accara' but never fear the originals are still out there and not too uncommon- specialty fish stores rather than petsmart or generic stores a place to start- hope ive been a slight help and that my opinion was right! im sure youll get more response,
