Hi Guys,
Couple questions...
I have a electric yellow and he has a kind of black blemish on him. He gets picked on a bit, but he does not get bit or anything, just chased. It's been on him for about a month or two. My cobalt has more of like black sopts around his mouth. I keep the water very clean and do weekly water changes. All fish have been in the tank for about 8 months with no signs of disease (or so I think). All fish eat great, they are fed spirulina, Hikari cichlid gold, vegies - lettuce, zuccini, peas, etc. Any ideas about what it could be? If need be, I could try and get pics if that would help.
Thanks guys.

Guess I should add that it is not a big blemish, maybe a 1/4 inch circle-ish type blemish. He is somewhat skinny, but I figured that was because he gets chased away from the food. Also, on a couple of the other fish they deleloped black on their fins...Bacterial?

Hi reposado

It's not unusual at all for the male yellow lab to begin showing blueish/blackish "blemishes," particularly near the mouth (if that's where they appear), at maturity.

Of course, your photos may show something else altogether, but that's the first thing that comes to my mind.

Good eye, S--thanks. I read too quickly and missed "on the fins."

Never mind, reposado.
