I saved this fish from a tank full of bigger Mayans. It was getting bullied bad. They were selling it as a "Red Terror". It's around 2 1/2 - 3 inches right now.
Thank you in advance.

looks like a juvenile midas in barred pattern. a friend of mine got 6 fish that looked exactly like that from a pet store that had them labelled as "Real Red Terrors". :)

Thank you all. It kind of look like the one I posted a while ago "Barred Midas turned ugly" when it was smaller.
Can you get a better pic for us? It's so dark it's really hard to tell what I'm looking at... I certainly am not ready to make a call on what this fish is yet. It also looks a bit abused, as you indicated, which makes it all the more difficult to indentify.

I will take better pictures tonight and post it tomorrow. The one posted right now was taken a few minutes after I put it in tank.

Looks like a Juvenile Amphilophus citrinellus/labiatus. Red devil of some sort. Should start turning color pretty quickly.
Good looking fish:)
