One of my Cichlid's tail is now a nub. What should I do about it or is there anything that can be done? Should I take it out of the tank before the others take anymore off or what? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

I totally agree with SGypsy.
Anytime I have a fish that even remotely appears ill, I take it out for observation.
Did a tankmate bite off the tail? Has the fin been receding over time? If it has, it probably has bacterial fin rot. Medicate it as SGypsy said and leave it in the isolation tank.
Watch the others for signs of fin rot if you think this fish's problem is not as a result of injury.
Give us some more info, too. Like SGypsy asked, what are its tankmates?
What are your water conditions/readings?
Good Luck!

The tail was being nipped at my another fish. I have 8 fish in the tank. 3 Green Terror's, 1 Firemouth, 3 Red Devils and an Alge Eater. All my tank readings are good. I just have 1 fish that is like the tank bully. Any suggestions on what I could do about it? This is my first tank with Cichlids and I don't want something like this to turn me off from them.
Thanks,
Chris

i think that you need to ask the people in the american forum about your tank since all of your fish are american cichlids. give them as much information about your set up as possible. good luck.
