in my biology class were making a habitat in a bottle and for the aquatic part of it i was thinking of putting a crab in the bottle with some type of gravel in there because hes going to be in the bottle for a whole week with the lid closed and no way to feed him i know they are scavengers so do they scavenge for old un eaten food or what because i was thinking about mixing some crushed fish food in the gravel to 'cheat' a lil anyone know what they eat or any info would help

that could work but i am not sure if the crab could eat the food fast enough, so there would probably be ammonia build up which could kill it. if i were you i would just let t stay in there as it should be able to last for a week without food.HTH.

i agree with RPB... my crabs go a week without food, then the last night i put a ton of different types of food in a tupperware and let them eat all night.
